Christmas is almost here, let’s get down to business with a fun gift decorating party. This time we’re decorating gifts for people we think deserve a little extra “thank you” this holiday season. These snack and cookie gifts are perfect for the UPS delivery person, the FedEx package handler, the postman. Maybe you know a group of volunteers who deserve a special gift? This is a perfect, and affordable way to show thanks to an array of people who make your life, and the lives of others a little easier.
We’re wrapping and gifting these cool OREO Cookies, Chips Ahoy! Cookies, Nutter Butters and RITZ cracker packs we found at Walmart. They’re right up front near the checkout, so grab a bunch of boxes on your way out! They’re priced right so you can stock up and give them as gifts and stuff the stockings full this year!
We’re not just wrapping these cookie and cracker packs, we’re decorating them with pipe cleaners, wrapping paper, construction paper, googly eyes and all sorts of fun stuff. I’ll have a checklist for your below of the supplies we used to create these fun gift packs!
Creating a special gift doesn’t need to be difficult, and it doesn’t need to cost a fortune either. Today we’re making budget friendly gifts that everyone will love. Who doesn’t love a good snack, especially when it’s wrapped up in a fun way – like a Santa Claus, a Snowman or even wrapped up like Rudolph! Let’s get this party started!
Gift Wrapping Party Ideas
First, we need to think of who we’re inviting to the party. Maybe you’ll be having a bunch of kids from the neighborhood over to make gifts for people in their lives, like their teachers or librarians. And moms and dads will make gifts for the mailman or UPS delivery woman. Who ever you invite to your party, it’s sure to be a blast!
Planning the table is always a good idea. We’ll have our food and drinks on one side and our decorating supplies on the other.
We’ll need to feed our guests, so why not make some awesome, easy treats using the same kind of cookies and crackers we’re going to be gifting! Besides, the kids will want to open the cookies anyways – so let’s not tease them with OREO cookie packs, let’s have some snacks ready to go!
OREO Cookie Christmas Tree
This one is a cinch, stack the OREO cookies in a pyramid shape and decorate with a little ribbon and candies. It looks cool, fun and it’s a perfect center piece for your party table!
RITZ Chocolate Dipped Cracker Sandwiches
This is a fun and tasty recipe for your party. We’re going to make chocolate RITZ Cracker sandwiches with a chocolate shell.
To make the RITZ chocolate dipped cracker sandwiches, we’ll lay a bunch of RITZ crackers out on a microwavable safe plate, add one chocolate melt to each cracker and microwave for 25 seconds or until the melts are just gooey. (you can certainly use your oven and a baking sheet to melt the chocolates if you wish)
Carefully remove the plate from the microwave and add a second RITZ cracker on top of the gooey chocolate melt. Squish together a little bit and place in refrigerator to cool for 20 minutes.
Once the crackers and chocolates have had the chance to cool, melt chocolate melts according to the directions on the package. Dip one half of our RITZ chocolate cracker sandwiches into the melted chocolate and place on a parchment covered tray. Return to refrigerator for 20 minutes or until the chocolate melts have had the chance to harden.
Decorate your RITZ Crackers with icing and spread them out on the table for the party!
Nutter Butter Truffles
To make Nutter Butter Truffles, we’ll be using a simple recipe. 1 package of softened cream cheese and a 16oz of Nutter Butter cookies, and chocolate melts. We’ll decorate them with sprinkles and a little drizzled icing for some festive fun!
Crush 16oz of Nutter Butter cookies quite finely, mix the Nutter Butter cookies with 8 ounces of softened cream cheese. With the ‘dough’, form 1 inch balls by taking a pinch of dough and rolling it between your hands. Place the formed balls into the refrigerator for about 20 minutes before coating them in chocolate. This allows them to firm up a little bit more.
Melt chocolate melts as directed on package and cover Nutter Butter balls with melted chocolate. I find it easy to plunk them in then roll them and lift them out with a fork. Place on a sheet lined with parchment paper, quickly add sprinkles if you wish. Decorate with cookie icing and return to refrigerator for 20 minutes or until chocolate and icing has had a chance to harden.
Serve up on your party table!
Chips Ahoy! Chocolate Peppermint Bark
This recipe is a quick and easy recipe as well. We’ll be using white and dark chocolate melts, Chips Ahoy! cookies and a half teaspoon of peppermint extract.
Melt a package of milk chocolate melts as directed on the package, pour evenly onto parchment lined cookie sheet. Use a non-stick kitchen spray treated spatula to spread the chocolate into an even layer, about ¼” thick. Place into refrigerator for 20 minutes to harden the chocolate.
In the meantime, crush 4 Chips Ahoy! cookies into relatively small pieces. You can easily do this by hand.
Once the milk chocolate has hardened in the refrigerator, melt the white chocolate melts as directed on the package. Stir in ½ teaspoon of peppermint extract. Pour the white chocolate over the milk chocolate and level out with a non-stick kitchen spray treated spatula. Immediately add Chips Ahoy!cookie crumbles and crushed candy cane (I used 3 crushed candy canes). Lightly press the crumbles into the white chocolate.
Cut with a knife, it will break up like bark when you do – plate and serve!
Gift Decorating Station
For our gifts, we’re giving boxes of RITZ Crackers, OREO Cookies, OREO Double Stuf Cookies, Chips Ahoy! Cookies and Nutter Butter Cookies. We’ve got the supplies to decorate and wrap the boxes in a fun way. This is a great idea for a winter crafting party to get ready for Christmas and give a gift to a deserving service member in your community! Let’s begin!
While all the decorations are interchangeable with things you already have in your craft room, we’re using pipe cleaners, googly eyes, cotton balls, wrapping paper, and construction paper. Lay out all the arts and craft supplies in a nice orderly fashion. People can use what they want to create their own gift to give to a person they feel deserves a little thank you this holiday season.
Here are a few ideas to get you started!
Wrap a box in red wrapping paper, decorate with cotton balls, colored construction paper and googly eyes! Use a flap of the wrapping paper to create the hat, or cut and fold a triangle and tape the hat onto the front. Glue cotton balls onto the hat to make it a Santa hat!
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
Using pipe cleaners, give Rudolph the red nose reindeer some fun antlers, give him a red poofy nose and two googly eyes! Use a black marker to draw on a mouth.
For the snowman, we’ll wrap the gift in plain red wrapping paper, then cut out circles in three different sized to make the snowman shape. Add on a couple googly eyes, draw on a carrot nose and add pipe cleaner arms and we have another fun and delicious gift ready to go!
If you’re looking for a fun way to get into the Christmas spirit and give back to service people in your community, this is a fun party idea. The snack size boxes are perfect gifts for teachers gifts and stocking stuffers for the whole family.
How would you decorate these cookie and cracker packs?
